Natural Remedies for Acne Scarring

Overview

natural remedies acne scarring : Overview
Prescribed medications and popular over-the-counter treatments can be successful in getting rid of severe acne scarring. Despite the purported success of Proactiv and other acne-curing medications, some people do not want to spend a lot of money to get rid of mild scarring. Fortunately, there are home remedies that can alleviate this problem. Many of them can be found in your refrigerator.

Acne Causes

Acne is defined as the formation of rashes and pimples along the skin. This comes from improper clogging of your sebaceous follicles, known as your pores. The pores constantly create sebum oil, which keeps your skin moist. But as your skin's cells die off, they can sometimes clog these pores and not properly allow the oil to flow. This clogging causes your skin to inflame, creating mild swelling that can develop into pimples and blackheads. Bacteria, increased hormones, overproduction of sebum and quickly shedding follicle cells can also cause acne. Whenever your acne areas are scratched from itching or scrubbing treatments, scarring can form.

Vitamin E

Vitamin E is a beneficial vitamin that is used by your body to heal your skin. Vitamin E can come in the form of oil. By regularly applying vitamin E oil in small amounts along your scars, the scars can gradually disappear over time.

Rose-Hip Seed Oil

Rose-hip seed oil is a natural ingredient used in many beauty care products that are focused on anti-aging. The oil can reduce wrinkles and signs of aging by encouraging growth of new skin cells. The Beauty Feast website suggests rubbing rose-hip seed oil onto the skin twice a day to increase healing of acne scars.

Ice Cubes & Water

If skin inflammation is the main cause of acne scarring, reduce it by washing your skin with cold water three times a day. For swelling reduction, rubbing ice cubes on acne scars for 15 minutes at a time can add relief.

Change in Diet

It is a myth that eating chocolate or greasy foods are the sole causes of acne and acne scarring. However, dietary changes can promote healthy skin. Increasing protein intake benefits regrowth of skin, while an increase of vitamins and nutrients in your diet can boost your immune system's ability to fight off bacterial infections that might cause acne flareups.
