Increasing the growth of your hair can be accomplished by eating foods high in antioxidants and boosting your protein intake. It's also important to ensure you're getting enough omega-fatty acids, which can be consumed by eating freshwater fish like salmon. Here's a guide to diets for fast hair growth.
Step 1
Increase consumption of antioxidant-rich fruits and vegetables. For example, eating antioxidant-rich foods such as blueberries, acai berries, oranges, carrots, broccoli and cauliflower can promote faster hair growth.
Step 2
Make sure you're getting enough protein in your diet. Protein contains keratin, which is essential for hair growth. The amount of protein you need will vary depending on your body weight. To determine how much protein you need, divide your weight by 2.2 to convert your weight to kilograms. Then multiply your weight by 1.5 to get the total amount of grams of protein you should consume each day. For example, 130 pounds / 2.2 = 59.09 kilograms. Then take 59.09 kilograms x 1.5 = 88.69 grams of protein each day.
Step 3
Create a hair-growth-supplement shake. Blend blueberries, oranges and carrots with ice. Add a scoop of whey protein power, which is packed with keratin. This will promote hair growth and better health.
Step 4
Boost your intake of omega fatty acids. Omega-3 fatty acids encourage blood flow, which promotes healthy-looking hair and faster hair growth. If you don't eat much fish (which is where omega-3 is most plentiful), consider taking a supplement. These are usually available in a soft gel tab that you take two to three times each day.
Step 5
Supplement your diet with vitamins that promote hair growth. This includes B-6, folic acid and minerals such as zinc and magnesium. These vitamins are typically included in a multivitamin.
TIPS AND WARNINGS
- TIP : Consider massaging your scalp daily. This will increase blood flow and promote hair growth.
- WARNING : Cut back on hair coloring and using a curling iron. Chemical treatments and excessive heat may discourage hair growth.
